Frequently Asked Questions
Where does your fishing charter depart from?
Our charters depart from Truro, Massachusetts, providing quick access to some of Cape Cod’s most productive fishing grounds. You’ll receive the exact meeting location and directions when you book your trip.
What types of fish can we catch?
Depending on the season, you may catch striped bass, bluefish, black sea bass, scup, tautog, tuna (on offshore trips), and other local species. Every trip is different, and our captain will target the species that are most active.
Do I need a fishing license?
No. Your fishing license is covered under the charter’s permit, so you can simply show up ready to fish.
Is all fishing equipment provided?
Yes. We provide rods, reels, bait, tackle, and all necessary fishing gear.
Can beginners go on your fishing charters?
Absolutely. Our trips are perfect for anglers of all experience levels. Whether it’s your first time fishing or you’re an experienced angler, we’ll help you have a successful day on the water.
Are your fishing charters family friendly?
Yes. Families and children are welcome. We enjoy introducing young anglers to fishing and creating memorable experiences on the water.
How long are your fishing trips?
We offer several trip lengths, ranging from shorter inshore excursions to full-day adventures. Contact us for current trip options and availability.
What should I bring?
We recommend bringing non aerosol sunscreen, sunglasses, weather-appropriate clothing, non-slip shoes, snacks, drinks ( no glass, please ), and any medications you may need. We also suggest bringing a camera to capture your catch.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Safety is always our top priority. If weather conditions make it unsafe to fish, we’ll work with you to reschedule your trip or discuss available options.
How many people can go on a charter?
Our charter boat can accommodate up to 6 passengers, in accordance with U.S. Coast Guard regulations.
Is smoking allowed on the boat?
No. Smoking, including cigarettes, cigars, e-cigarettes, and vaping, is not permitted anywhere on board. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for all guests.
Can we keep the fish we catch?
Yes, as long as the catch is within Massachusetts size and bag limits. We’ll let you know what’s legal to keep and can clean your catch if that service is available.
When is the best time to fish on Cape Cod?
Fishing is excellent throughout much of the season, but target species vary by month. Spring and summer are popular for striped bass and bluefish, while late summer and fall can offer exceptional fishing for several species.
Should I tip the captain?
Gratuities are appreciated. If you enjoyed your trip, a tip similar to what you’d leave for other service professionals is customary.
